Can someone help me with the syntax options for invoking a UPES from a value in a container variable? Let me give a little background:
I have a process with an activity that invokes a UPES. The UPES is named MYUPES, and is defined in MYSYS, a system in MYSYSGRP. If I set the UPES to be invoked in buildtime, it resolves it to MYUPES.MYSYS.MYSYSGRP. So far, so good.
If I put this same fully qualified value in a container member, and then set the activity to invoke UPES from container, it doesn't work at all -- in fact it blows up the execution server. If I put just "MYUPES" in the container variable, it works fine. Still OK.
A problem has arisen with the addition of an additional system in the system group. I have added a second system to allow bulk instantiation without impacting interactive users. But when a process instance created on the second system reaches the UPES activity (first activity), it throws an error to the system log:
Code: |
FMC32011E The Program Execution Server MYUPES.MYSYS2.MYSYSGRP is not defined |
This is a true statement, because MYUPES is not defined in MYSYS2. If I change the definition it solves this immediate problem, but causes problems in other process that get created on MYSYS.
Any ideas? Is it time for a PMR? |

Can't you have a definition in each system called MYUPES.MYSYS.MYSYSGRP and MYUPES.MYSYS2.MYSYSGRP that point to the same queue? |

This sounds like a good solution... but this would not be necessary if the UPES name were not being specified "from container", and I would probably think about opening a PMR just to see what they have to say. _________________ John McDonald
