Having been thrown into a "You will need to use MQ for this project' senario recently I am pleased to find that I've managed to set up local and remote queues, a publish subscribe broker, and the relevent JMS components to allow us to use the queues etc. with Java.
However we do have a small problem... We are using a mixture of durable subscribers, subscribers, and publishers in the environment, each time we start one of the components it obviously registers itself on the broker stream and control queues. However these messages are never deleted. Through testing we find we actually reach the maximum number of messages on the broker and control queues fairly quickly. The broker stops, the whole architecture grinds to halt.
It appears that the control queues / and streams etc. don't clear themselves down. We can't clear them down as the messages are system messages and we don't know the implications. We can only set the queue depth to 600,000 which does rather give a limitaton on the number of request to publish or request to subscribe events before meltdown.
Am i missing something here?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated, either on this forum on via e-mail, Geoff.Jones@db.com
