I am working on a requirement where we are facing issues(Qmgr taking more time to start up etc) when a queue manager is restarted because of excess persistant messages in the queues.As we are using circular logging for qmgrs logs we are unable to determine the log size.
Is there any means by which we can know the number of records or persistant messages in each log file?

How long is "too long". Are you properly shutting down the queue manager? Do you have long units-of-work that are still open?

How do you know its that?

Even if you could figure this # out, what would you do differently now that you had that #???
