Hi,
I was told you should never delete the default execution group as it was used internally. However a client have deleted it and the broker seems to be functioning fine.
So I wonder is the default execution group used internally in WMQI 2.1 (CSD6) and also is it used in WBIMB 5.0 and WMQ 6 ?
Further would it be supported to delete this execution group and if not can you simply re-create it?
If the broker really does need to keep that execution group then it will keep it alive under the covers. It will look to you like you have deleted it but if you list the processes running on the machine, you will probably find a DataFlowEngine. This is the Execution Group process.
The default exec group "owns" the control queue (SYSTEM.BROKER.CONTROL.QUEUE). If you delete it, it will still be there until you recycle the broker, then some other EG will own the queue.
There's nothing wrong with deleting the default EG. _________________ -wayne
