We will be using workflow for an application that could potentially generate up to 2 million process instances in runtime. Only about 25% will be actively running, the rest will be completed process instances that we are required to keep around for 30 days after they are complete. Does anyone have experience with numbers that high. I'm new to workflow and a bit concerned about the volume. We will be running 3.5 on ZOS.
Another option is to remove the completed process instances to an external DB2 table for the 30 day retention, but that will require more development time, code and database servicing, etc so it would not be optimal if MQ can handle the volume.
