I am calling a CICS program that is return a variable length record. Normally I would create a copybook and map the fields to the copybook and all works well, but in this case the information coming back varies in length depending on the persons information. I have created a copybook and made the fields NOT MANDATORY but I still get the same error each time. The error is as follows, "Custom Wire Format error. Message bit stream smaller than expected: message set....." Any help on this would be great.
Thanks Gus |

What version of WMQI are you using? Can you explain how you have created your message set?

I am use version 2.0.2. The message set was created by importing an COBOL copybook. When I imported the copybook, I went back in and made the fields NOT MANDATORY in hopes that when the information comes back, if it was not present, it would continue to process. That is not the case. If you need anymore information please let me know. I would like to get this working today.
Thanks Gus

I had sent you a private message with my email address. Please send me the exported message set and I will have a look at it. |
