I am getting a problem when i am trying to connect to Queue Manager on AIX,
which has MQSeries -v5.2 installed. I don't know where is the problem..
When I am checking the error log file i am getting this error.

AMQ8043: Non runtime application attempted to connect to runtime only queue
manager.

EXPLANATION:
A non runtime application attempted to connect to a queue manager on a node
where support for non runtime applications has not been installed. The connect
attempt will be rejected with a reason of MQRC_ENVIRONMENT_ERROR.
ACTION:
If the node is intended to support only runtime applications, investigate why a
non runtime application has attempted to connect to the queue manager. If the
node is intended to support non runtime only applications, investigate if the
base option has been installed. The base option must be installed if non
runtime applications are to run on this node.

I want to resolve this problem as early as possibe, so i want somebody to help me out..

Thanks in advance
vijay

Vijay,
did you install the base option when you installed MQ on that box or did you just select the runtime support? Check the Installtion and install the MQSeries server bundle from the MQ CD using the SMIT procedure, not the easy install. Refer to the Quick beginnings manual for AIX at http://www-3.ibm.com/software/ts/mqseries/library/manualsa/amqaac03/amqaac03tfrm.htm
Cheers,
Stefan

You can also get this error when you use the MQCONNX call and don't have your program ownership set correctly:

su - root
chown mqm:mqm progname
chmod ug+s progname

Are you using MQCONN or MQCONNX?
