Is it possible to read a remote queue via remote queue definition ? If no, what is the workaround ?
I did create on the same machine (with MQ Explorer for Websphere MQ V6.0) :
- 2 queue managers : M1 (1414), M2 (1415)
- local queue Q on M1, a local queue Q on M2
- remote definitions Q.M2 on M1 and Q.M1 on M2
- transmission queues, M1 on M2 and M2 on M1
- sender and reciever channels M1.M2 and M2.M1
- server-connection channels CLIENT.M1 and CLIENT.M2
I did a couple of tests with sample test programs (amqsputc and amqspgetc) included in the Websphere MQ V6.0 download. All seems to work except :
Reading M2's local queue Q by it's remote definition (Q.M1) on M1, or vice versa. Writing did work.
Please help. |

No.

Use WebSphere MQ configuration and application configuration to ensure that all queues that need to be read are qlocals on the queue managers that the applications are connected to.
It's not a workaround, because it's not a flaw that you can't read from qremotes. It's a design decision, and thus it's a design consideration for your network. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Sorry MASTER kevinf2349.
I'm a NEWBIE in the Websphere MQ. I did not find necessary to write it my post, since it is automatically written under names on the forum. |

No problem. as you can see I deleted my post when I realised that I had made a mistake. I hadn't realized that Jeff had already answered. Sorry.
I hope you got the answer you required from Jeff. |
