Using WBIM 5.
How can I get the To and Subject for the sendmail node into the bar file?
The To and Subject have to be set in a compute node before sendmail is called.
Depending on the system deployed to the To and Subject are different.
Currently, I control this by coding two identical flows except for the code in the compute nodes that create the message for the sendmail node. I then deploy each flow to the correct system.
I was hoping to eliminate the need for two flows by using the bar file properties but I can't/don't know how to promote a property for this or of another technique that could easily accomplish this using the bar file.
Any help would be appreciated.

They are not Properties of the SendMail plugin, so can't be Promoted. They are part of the XML that is passed to the node.
If I remember correctly, someone said that V6 allows parts of the ESQL to be promoted, so that might work. Assuming that you can move to V6.
Store the values in a DB.
You could write a script that "unrolls" the bar, searches for a "constant" in the XML that is part of a SET statement, replace it, and then re-build the bar.

You can have user defined properties in V6 that you can set in the BAR file. The esql needs to change to use the defined properties (also available from javacompute nodes).
It looks like the source is included, so you could make To: and Subject: "properties" .... _________________ -wayne |

V6 is pretty hot off the presses.....
Is it already running in production for many people???
Is V6 pretty close to V5 that putting it in won't cause me heartburn from a training aspect? |
