Hello Everybody,
We had two application one on AIX and the other one on S/390 talking to each other through MQ , initially when we deployed the app it was a server-to-server channel connection, and it was working ok. Then the IT management wanted to consolidate the software running on different platforms and whated us to redesign the AIX application to use a MQclient attachement connected to the s/390 server. This works fine too , but the performance has droppped almost 200%. Does anybody experienced this before? Appreciate if anybody could explain the pros and cons? or ways of doing some performance tunning.
Thanks. |

Client code should have sped up the application, All of my testing has showed the client connection to be faster, but you pay the price for speed by having to
code for the potential network outages. Can you supply more info on your apps
language/compiler settings/enviroment.

Appreciate you responding.
Let me briefly explain the application set up
The source application is a home grown application written on VC++ and oracle 11i(not sure about the compiler version). The receiving app is a CICS/Cobol financial application from a vendor and the EAI is being done with TIBCO adapters. The downgradation on the performance is obvious to the MQPUT from the client connection, rest of the benchmarks were same as before.
When we bypass TIBCO adapter and put the messages directly on s/390 box it flies. I am not very familliar with client bindings to give more info on the type of connection TIBCO has.
