Hello:
This is an informational post....
We recently had a less than successful implementation of NSK Java 4.2 ( jdk142_v20) that is using the MA88 MQSeries classes for Java.
Everything in the Java install went without an issue! As I was configuring the MA88 stuff and tried to run the MQIVP utility on the Tandem got some real ugly messages, after going to HP GCSC it was discovered that there needed to be a different version of the MQ MQSRLLIB that pointed to a different floating point calculation attribute.
The Java executable from HP supports IEEE float while the V5,1 MQSRLLIB pointed to TANDEM FLOAT.
Opened issue with IBM and after a few hours they informed me that the correct MQSRLLIB could be found in C3EFIX3 and of course the only mentioned c3EFIX 1 or 2in the install doc's. So if you are going to go to the new Java make sure you obtain that fix through the IBM MQSeries support group!
Sure is for the Tandem at least, I have some ugly encrypt/decrypt scripts that really eat the cpu's on 76k system. Hoping the HP claimed Java improvements for less utilization will come through.
The MA88 Docs were updated in July to reflect the support in the Tandem arena at least didn't spend much time with other platforms, but almost eveyone has the SSl except NSK and maybe ( one year or so) V5.3 will be released for NSK and I can S**tcan these scripts that I am forced to use for 5 or 6 applications.
