A new cluster was set up incorrectly with the cluster name, Ip and port of another cluster. It was started and then stopped. The cluster channels were altered to correct the cluster name and port. Now there are 'hidden' channels with the incorrect parameters.

Also the repository went into a retrying state and then stopped all together.

I can get the channels to run between z/OS and the Linux mq srever box but applicatoin servers are unable to connect with the queues. Other clusters are running successfully on this server.

How do I clean up this cluster and start the respoitory manger?

thanks

Make sure all the channels and q defs are correct, then restart the Queue Manager. That will restart the Repository Manager. No other way.

In case you tried MQOPENing any qs along the way, you should probably clear SYSTEM.CLUSTER.REPOSITORY.QUEUE.

Your best bet would be to delete all qmgrs in the cluster and start again.
Be more careful next time.

Since this is production I have to wait for a window - this Sunday morning.

From IBM I am going to:

Stop CHINIT
Empty the following queues:

SYSTEM.CLUSTER.COMMAND.QUEUE
SYSTEM.CLUSTER.REPOSITORY.QUEUE
SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE

Stop MQ MSTR

Restart MQ MSTR and CHINIT

IBM says that should start the repository manager. Will try to clean up the 'hidden' channels after everything is running correctly (at a later date).

Do any of you see any stumbling blocks with this procedure?
