Platform: Solaris 2.8
MQ Server Version: 5.3

Hello,
On applying CSD10 successfully on WMQ CSD6, the Queue Manager failed to start with the following error.
"AMQ6184: An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred on queue manager". FDC dumps with ProbeID=XC130004 being produced. After backing out, the queue manager started normally.

Anyone faced similar problems? I did a search for this topic and I hope this is not a duplicate. IBM after debugging says the problem seem to happen during loading of mqs.ini file. That file looks alright and I can't see any null characters. Looking forward to inputs.
Thanks,
Jangochi

The top of the FFST would be useful, particularly the MQM function stack, but not the trace history.

So is it running now without trouble?
You did stop/verify the qm was all the way down before you upgraded?
(Sometimes a hanging processes can cause odd issues...)

I recently did the same upgrade on AIX and Linux without issues, though we did reboot the servers after the installation (just standard pratice on significant upgrades around here, not in the IBM instructions.)

After backout, QM is running fine(now at CSD6). We had made sure that none of the MQ processes are running before upgrade and the QM came down normally.

Reboot is not an easy option as multiple applications use the same server. We tried the CSD10 installation twice and the failure seem to happen at the same instant.

Before starting the upgrade did you make sure that all memory and semaphores had been released? Check amqiclen....

Enjoy

Yes, but not using amqiclen though.I had removed semaphores and shared memory using ipcrm and none was present prior to installation.
