Looking for some advice from experienced MQ people using AMI. Despite the fact that is soon to be unsupported, I have been asked to install this.

Did you find it difficult to set up and install? Any 'gotchas' to share from your experience?

How much time roughly did you spend setting it up? Right now it is only going to a dev box and one application will be using it.

How much effort is there to supporting AMI?

Is it pretty stable? Or does it need constant attention?

I haven't installed it for a few years, as I lost interest after hearing it was going to be stabilised.

The install is straightforward and the documentation is good. How much time you need to spend setting it up, depends on what you want to use it for.

The application I had for the AMI took about a week in total, consisting of reading the documentation, testing the solution and doing the installs on the customer site. When we got nearer to Production a bug in the AMI was discovered and it was dropped.

Avoid it if you can and make sure you have plan B if you can't.
