I'm trying to install WMB File Extender, using WBIMB 5.0.6
I get an error telling me -
Message Brokers Toolkit for Websphere Studio - Message Brokers Broker Archive Editor Translation (5.0.5): Feature requires plug-in "com.ibm.etools.mft.bar.editor (5.0.5)", or equivalent.
First I searched the file system for com.ibm.etools.mft.bar.editor, this returned versions 5.0.0, 5.0.2, 5.0.3 & 5.0.5, checking the install/update perspective I get a different story reporting the installed version of Message Brokers Domain Administration Translation as 5.0.3 (Despite Message Broker Domain Administration reporting installed level 5.0.6)
To Further confuse the issue, when I search for available updates I find none, the Query Settings me tell me it's looking for upgrades to -
com.ibm.etools.mft.bar.editor_5.0.6
Anyone got any ideas what's going on there? |

What CSD level are you running? FileExtender nodes require at least FP5 |

CSD6, I didn't install CSD5.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling back to CSD6. Still the same error.
I'm now trying to uninstall and go to CSD5 but I am unable to do so because the installer for CSD5 reports that it is -
Unable to install Webscale Distribution Hub 2.0 over Webscale Distribution Hub 2.0: Installed product has newer version.
This doesn't appear in windows add/remove programs and I have removed all the WBIMB stuff except agent controller, db2 & mq.
*update*
after a bit of googling I found how to uninstall Webscale Distribution hub
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wbihelp/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.etools.mft.eb.doc/ah20310_.htm
(which I had to perform twice as there were two uninstall programs in different locations, original and v2?)
I have now gone to CSD5 and have had no problem installing the File Extender
The question is, do I now install CSD6 or ignore it because of the problems it caused me |

I can say that I'm running the File extenders at FP5 with no problems. Slow, but it works. And based on your comments, no interest in moving beyond that at this point |

I had to give it a go installing CSD6 (I have workspace with several projects that I developed using 5.0.6, the workspace won't open with 5.0.5 so I had upgrade to get the stuff out at least), but it has disabled the file extenders plug-in, so it would seem to me that the two are incompatible. If you are using the file extender plugin then I wouldn't recommend moving to CSD6 yet (at least on windows platforms anyway) unless you have some time to kill and you think you can work around it. |

RichA,
I can confirm MBFE supports WBIMB 5.0 CSD06; unfortunately your symptoms never surfaced in our testing... can they possibly be related to a "partial" update of the eclipse workbench components?
Cheers,
