hi,
In the AS-400 system which Im working on there are about 5 queue managers with about 30-50 Journalreceivers in them. I dont want those unnecessary journal receivers to exist in those libraries. Can anyone help me to automate the process of clearing unwanted jouyrnal receivers???
It would be very helpful if anybody answer this as soon as possible...
Regards,

Not many iSeries members in the forum. If it was an MQ question, then somebody might help. Looks like you will have to write some CL script to automate the process. |

Where I'm currently working has a program to do this and won't be giving it away for free.
You need to identify the receiver that are older than those needed for recovery (as reported in the Qmgr error logs). I recommend you delete these manually if you're in a hurry and take your time with your automation development. |

The below link has some "as-is" code from IBM on a journal management process that I have using for about 2 years to keep our journals cleaned up. We are currently creating about 10 to 15 1 gig MQ receivers a day and I run the clean up program every 2 hours without effecting performance.
