Hi,
I'm using WMQ 5.3 on a RedHat 9 system Kernel version 2.4.08
i set my LD_ASSUME_KERNEL= 2.4.19
would anyone know what the corresponding environment variable and value would be for a Fedora Core 4 system?
Thanks

It is ....
btw... the env variable is not needed with WMQ V6 ...
and also, although it works, Fedora is not an officially supported platform. _________________ -wayne |

Hi,
Hopefully, IBM will wake up and smell the coffee soon (referring to FC).

I believe IBM do Support RedHat Enterprise Server (RHES 3 I think) which is based on Fedora Core, but you pay for it and get support for it from RedHat. I assume that RedHat provide IBM with support for the underlying operating system.
If IBM supported Fedora Core, and a bug was discovered that was due to a defect in Fedora Core, how would they get it fixed on your unsupported Fedora Core O/S? IBM support MQ, not Fedora, so they would be telling you to get your O/S fixed.
With RHES, I assume they can go to RedHat and get a patch from them to fix the O/S defect which solves your problem.

I think you assume wrong. I do not think that IBM support the O/S; if you have a bug in the O/S you have to get the fix from the O/S vendor or supplier, IBM will not get it for you. _________________ MQSeries.net helps those who help themselves.. |
