Hi All,
I have the following doubts. I request you to please provide me the answers for the following questions.
Q Suppose at the time of creating a Queue Manager i specify the nos of primary files as 3 and no.s of secondary files as 1 with the file size of 80MB. What is the minimum amount of disk space that MUST be available for logs when the queue manager is created?
I belive that space is allocated for all the primary files when QM is created.
Since the no. of primary files is 3, the space required would be 3*80MB = 240MB.
Q Which process maintains the integrity of local units of work?
Q We have MQSC commands, MQI commands, PCF and MQAI commands.
The commands are processed by command server and the commands are sent to SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.QUEUE.
The IBM System Administration manual says that only PCF commands are sent to SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.QUEUE. Does this mean that other commands types MQSC, MQI calls are not sent to SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.QUEUE.
Thanks in advance. _________________ Regards,

Your calculation is correct, but I'd be careful about cutting it so close. Bad things happen when the qmgr runs out of log file space. Of course, you HAVE to expect that at some time secondary logs will be created. (I assume you're using circular logging here).

MQSC (via runmqsc) and MQI calls do no use any queue, they call directly into the qmgr process(es). _________________ -wayne |
