Our system admin dismantled the configuration manager box without the broker being removed from the config mgr. A broker cannot be run under 2 configuration managers, so i know that i have to delete the broker and then recreate it to bring under new config mgr.
the broker was not deleted from topology view, so would i run into any problems if i go aheadwith mqsidelete broker. Do i have to delete the broker database and recreate it. Please guideme through this.
Thanks |

Well, if the system administration people dismantled the configmgr box before you were ready, then obviously they should fix this...
As long as you aren't trying to restore the configmgr, you should be fine with just running mqsidelete, and then recreating the broker and registering it with the new configmgr.. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

...which reminds me of a few improvements in this area in v6
1) the ability to move the Config Manager onto a new machine or queue manager
2) backup and restore of Config Manager
3) the ability to set the UUID of the broker reference in the config repository (with caveats)
4) the ability to completely remove all references in the config repository to a previously deleted broker
5) removed the requirement to do a deploy after removing a broker from the Config Manager (in fact, there's pretty much no reason to do a topology deploy if you're not using pubsub).
That's all I can remember for the moment.
