I am a newbie to WBI MB world. We are planning to implement WBIMB RFE based solution. I was going through the documentation of Neon and I have a couple of questions to all of you gurus of WBI MB
1. Are NEON nodes providing any better functionality than the current expanded node offerings of WBI MB.
2. What are the different functionality NEON nodes are providing over WBIMB current nodes can not provide
3. Whys is IBM carrying Sybase software along with its products.
4. I heard NEON is renamed as eBiz Integrator. But the name is not reflected in WBIMB RFE documentation
Thanks in advance

There is very little good reason to use WBIMB RFE if you do not have existing NEON code to support.
It is more expensive, and as you say, does not add any features that are missing in WBIMB. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

NEON nodes are only provided to make migration from a NEON/ebiz Integrator/MQSI 1.0 environment to a WMQI 2.x/WBIMB 5.0 environment easier. Without them, you would have to rebuild everything from scratch. If you do not have any existing NEON formats or rules, there is no reason whatsoever to purchase the NEON extensions.
As for why it is included, IBM's MQSI 1.0 (which became WMQI which became WBIMB) is effectively New Era of Networks ebiz Integrator. IBM and NEON were business partners about 5 years ago. IBM leased the code from NEON. Sybase bought New Era of Networks a few years back. There is a lot more to the story and what little I have said may not be entirely accurate, but it close enough. I am sure there are others here who give a much more detailed explanation of the relationship between New Era of Networks and IBM. _________________ IBM Certified Specialist: MQSeries
