What version of WMQ are you using? Is there an *.FDC file in the errors subdirectory? |

too bad. did you check all directories? no fdc or amq*.log files at all`in these directories? anything in the windows events (application, system, security)? all system requirements okay?
what mq version? (as asked before, , but which you decided not to answer)
if you dont offer information nobody can help _________________ Regards, Butcher |

rc=5 means access is denied. Somewhere on the system you have something which MQ cant touch. I'd delete and amq*.log on the machine in the errors dir, and ensure the local mqm group has write access to the Errors dir, the qmgrs dir and the log dir.
Worst case, use filemon and regmon (www.sysinternals.com) to log a failure and search for access denied to see what it was failing on |

Could it be that the user doesn't have access to the registry and as such cannot read or write the necessary information to the registry ?
