We are using MQS HP-UX to communicate with another system on a different machine.
The people on the other side are going to upgrade from v5.1 to v5.2.
My question is:
Do we have to upgrade on our side too, or will the MQSeries still be able to comunicate with different versions?
If we can stay with v5.1, do we have to make any changes (configuration etc) to make this work?

MQ interacts with all of it's Versions. You could as well have a V2 Queue manager talking to a V5.1/V5.2 Queue manager. But there are certain features which are only specific to higher versions which are not available to lower ones. Example being Clustering.
Hence, you might want to check the differences and how it affects your system. But in my opinion, since you are upgrading/communicating from a Lower version to a higher one, i would say you have to do nothing. Even if you have to, depending upon your Environment, it would be very little.
