If you are keen on some research, look at the error logs at "e:\program files\IBM\Websphere MQ\errors\AMQERR01.LOG" and "e:\program files\IBM\Websphere MQ\qmgrs\QMGRNAME\errors\AMQERR01.LOG", there will probably be an FDC file hanging about with more details.

If you don't have the energy to deal with it, and this is just a test server, I suggest uninstalling everything, deleting the directories, and reinstalling. Usually this is, albeit a somewhat brutal, the fastest solution, though you don't really learn anything from it...

Thanks for the log file names...I will research...Yes I remember from my Austin day in beta team that the uninstall left unwanted files and directories out there (dirty uninstall)

I'll let you know what happens...

Log file 'C:\DOCUME~1\<USER NAME>\LOCALS~1\Temp\amqicsdn.txt'...

Tells the tale...
Installing 'C:\IBM\WMQ53\bin\amqxms0n.dll'
15:06:09 copying from 'C:\Program Files\IBM\Source\WebSphere MQ CSD07 EnUs\CSD00001\amqxms0n.dll' to 'C:\IBM\WMQ53\bin\amqxms0n.dll'
15:06:09 source version: '5.300.700.4148' target: '5.300.100.2283'
15:06:09 source file time 'May 27 2004 at 06:00' (127301112000000000)
15:06:09 target file time 'Jan 16 2003 at 06:00' (126871704000000000)
15:06:09 ***Copy failed 1224

I googled and found many instances of this error.
One of which reads as follows:
WebSphere MQ installation fails
If you are performing a component installation of WebSphere Everyplace Acces(or anything that install MQ), you might encounter an error during the installation of WebSphere embedded messaging or the application of service to WebSphere embedded messaging because the amqxms0n.dll file is in use by the Windows Management Instrumentation system service.

To avoid this situation, ensure that the Windows Management Instrumentation system service is stopped before installing:
Open the Control Panel, and double-click Administrative Tools.
Click Services to display a list of system services.
Right-click on Windows Management Instrumentation, and click Stop.
After the service is stopped, you can proceed with the installation.

SO YOU GET AN ERROR HIDDEN IN A LOG Imagine that!!! Of course you have idea that error happened until you get the error listed in my previous threads.
