MQ V5.2 on the mainframe. Just trying to confirm a problem and solution and any help would be appreciated. When using MQGET for a unicode message and the buffer & buffer length is not double what the true message size is we get truncated messages. If the buffer is long enough to hold the message in unicode format then it gets converted to ebcdic correctly and the ending message length is the true, character, message length.
Does an application really need to set the buffer length based upon the codeset of the message?
Nevermind, though I welcome all comments. I found an APAR(CSQC746E) from IBM that states the buffer specified must be large enough to accommodate the message both before and after conversion.
