Firstly, Could each QMGRs have different CCSID on the same machine?
I faced the problem about this. I have two qmgr,QM1 and QM2, with CCSID 819 and 874. And theirs listener ports are 1414 and 1424. I tested to connect them via MQ client. I just cound connect to QM2 (1424) but couldn't connect to QM1 (1414).

And the error log file on client side told like this:
----- amqrscfa.c : 385 --------------------------------------------------------
8/8/2005 13:20:18
AMQ9541: CCSID supplied for data conversion not supported.

EXPLANATION:
The program ended because, either the source CCSID '819' or the target CCSID
'874' is not valid, or is not currently supported.
ACTION:
Correct the CCSID that is not valid, or ensure that the requested CCSID can be
supported.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I tested client connection again by changing CCSID of QM1 to 874 the same as QM2, the connection was ok.

Please suggest me about this, I have to configure them by use different CCSID on the same machine. Thank you so much.

i think you can have qmgrs with different ccsid's.
you may try to change both queuemanagers to 819, i assume none of them will work.
if so, it may be the os that does not support 819 (less codepage installation) ?!?
sorry, this is not my prefered plattform, so others may help here how to verify the installed codepages....

Thanks Mr Butcher

I tried as you recommended by changing all to 819 and they were not worked. I'll check the codepage on this machine (Solaris 5.8 )

We standardized the localization of the qmgrs: all CCSID is 819/437 none the less the messages traveling with CCSID 912/1208 (Latin-2 or UTF-8 ). I prefer a transparent qmgr/client localization in MQ level for a simpler ntercommunication.

The codepages of qmgrs and messages are independent but I often observe confusion of it.
