I'm having to set the seq num on our sender channel in order to resolve the message count out of synch issue. This is happening very frequently and I'm not sure what the reasons are behind that. Can anyone tell me what we could do to avoid this. Thanks for the inputs

This used to happen quite a lot in older MQ versions and CSD levels, and was pretty much solved in later fixes; What version are you working with? Which OS?

This can also occur on unstable networks.

We are using MQ version 5.3 and our OS is Sun Solaris, how does network stability affect this.

In many ways. The description of cause and effect is in the intercommunications manual (I believe) and is explained in the way to resolve in doubt channels.

a) check last sequence number of last sent batch from sender channel
b) check last sequence number of last received batch from receiver channel
c) resolve accordingly to differences making sure not to create duplicate messages...

Enjoy
