Dear Friends,
Before posting this question I promptly went through the site but didn't got the satisfied answer.please excuse if the same question is already posted in this Site.

I have a doubt on MQ High availability or fault tolerance, 24 hour systems operations.
when I went through the book named as "Understanding high availability with WebSphere MQ " by Hiscock. I found that It needs to install support pack for MQ High Availability. I found the following details with the URL to download the support pack....
1) MC41 Configuring WebSphere MQ for iSeries High Availability
2) MC63 WebSphere MQ for AIX – Implementing with HACMP
3) MC68 Configuring WebSphere MQ with Compaq Trucluster for high availability
4) MC69 Configuring WebSphere MQ with Sun Cluster 2.X
5) MC6A Configuring WebSphere MQ for Sun Solaris with Veritas Cluster Server
6) MC6B WebSphere MQ for HP-UX – Implementing with Multi Computer/Service Guard
with the above details, I found that there is a Support pack for iSeries, Solaris, AIX, But my question is
I HAVE NOT FOUND THE SUPPORT PACK FOR MQ HIGH AVAILABILITY ON WINDOWS PLATFORM.
Please Guide me whcih HA(High Availability) software I need to Install for Windows platform , as I am implementing it for my current project on Windows2000.
it is also a great help, if I get some more documents (or URL) on implementation of MQ High Availability..
Kindly requesting all of you to share some of the documents(pdf's or URL) to know more about MQ High Availability and implementation on the same.
It would be great help for me , if I get some suggestions for this posting . Eagerly waiting for you people's prompt reply on this topic
Thanks and Regards,
Vishwanath. |

There is no separate support pack for HA on Windows. It's built into the product, and the documentation is part of the Help that ships with the product (but does not seem to be available in the InfoCenter.) _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Vishwanath,
for version 5.1 (and I think 5.2 too) there was a SupportPac for HA on Windows, but this is included into WMQ 5.3.
The only thing, you have to take into account is, that the MQ data
Code: |
defaults:
/var/mqm/qmgrs/<your_qmgr> on Unix
C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\qmgrs\<your_qmgr> on Windows
MQS_ROOT:[MQM.QMGRS.<your_qmgr>] on VMS |
and the MQ logs
Code: |
defaults:
/var/mqm/log/<your_qmgr> on Unix
C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\log\<your_qmgr> on Windows
MQS_ROOT:[MQM.LOG.<your_qmgr>] on VMS) |
Have to be on shared disks (SCSI, SAN or whatever) and needs to be taken over from the active node to the backup node. The SupportPacs you listed, mostly only describe this scenario or provide you with start / stop agents and tools, which move the directories listed above to the shared volumes. On Windows the tools also modify the registry. _________________ Regards
