My first time configuring WMQ 5.3 to be accessed by JMS Client.
- The JMS client running on WAS 5.1
- IBM WBI Message Broker 5.0.3(WBIMB aka. MQSI) on the other end.
Please confirm the followings are basic steps I need to do:
1. Install WMQ on both WAS and WBIMB machines.
2. Create all messaging components using WMQ administration tool (WMQ Explorer, command line, etc), as if they are for legacy WMQ client usage, e.g. MQ Manager, Queues, Channels.
3. Define Local Queues, Remote Queues, Transmission Queues, Alias Queues used by the interface.
4. Assign JNDI names for Queue Connection Factory (QCF) pointing to the local WMQ Manager on WAS.
5. Assign JNDI names for Alias Queues need to be accessed by JMS client on WAS.
6. Code the JMS client to send and receive messages to/from queues using pre-defined JNDI names.
7. The WBIMB side will get and put message with traditional MQInput and MQOutput node.
Are these all the steps I need to perform? Did I miss any steps?
Further Questions:
1. Does the QCF always point to WMQ Queue Manager?
2. Do I need to only create JNDI names for the Alias Queues and Ignore all other queues (Local, Remote, Xmit queues), since Alias Queues are the only queues accessed by the JMS application ?
3. Do I even need to define all type of queues (Remote, Local, Alias, Xmit) for this interface to work? or just receiver and sender queues (which can be implemented by just using WMQ Local Queues type on both MQM)?
Thank you for your assistance..... |
