Hi,
I just upgraded MQ 5.3 to 6.0 on a development server, but now my local toolkit (on my pc) can't connect to the configuration manager - gives 2035. Nothing else was changed. I start the toolkit with a local user called wbrkuid. The server has also a local user called wbrkuid which is in the mqm and mqsi groups. Has worked hapilly with MQ 5.3 and MQSI 5.0 for some time now. No other changes were made during the installation and the system works OK operationally (ie broker runs flows as it always did). I can connect and deploy with no problems from the tookit running on the server itself, but not from my pc anymore.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I can think of three options:
1. Possibly something to do with domain users - is any of the users in question domain users? if so, it is not recommended - use local users and domain groups. (see post http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=23108, PeterPotkay's answer. There are also other similar posts floating about the site)
I know it worked before, but you should definitely re-check that something did not go amiss here during the installation. Possibly MQ does some thing automatically it shouldn't.
2. Did you re-create the QM or simply update the version over it? if you re-created it, naturally, the AUTH queue is empty and you'll have to start giving everyone permissions from scratch...
3. Some odd new phenomenon concerning MQ6.0 no one knows about, it being new and all...
That's all I can think of,
Hop. |

Thanks for the help. I looked up tne thread which lead me to this one
http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18880&highlight=topicroot
I actually decided to logon as my domain userid, which is in the mqm, etc groups on the server where MQ6 is on, but have always only got restricted access. The thread above said to put the user id of the config managers service in the MCA field of the SYSTEM.BKR.CONFIG channel (previously blank) and now I can connect and deploy using my domain account without having to run the toolkit as a local account.
