The scenario:
A non repo cluster qmgr A (part of 3 qmgrs cluster: 2 repo 1 not) was recreated and named the same as his predecessor. A repo cluster qmgr B could not define a new auto sender channel BA to A cause old cluster sender channel BA was in the state of retry. After changing B to be a non repo and issuing CLUSTER REFRESH REPOS(YES), old channel BA went from state of retrying to starting. Also new channel BA was created (state running) and the messages were able to make it from B to A. There are couple of things that I would like to understand....
1. Why is the old auto cluster sender BA in the state of starting - shouldn't it be gone by now (Does this have to do with remembering things for 90 days...)
2. Where can I find more info on amqrfdm command in particular what is meant by live or deleted sequance next to cluster and qmgr names...
for example
(QMGRName ) Deleted Sequance(9999999999)
(CLUSTERName ) Deleted Sequance(8888888888)
All info would be greatly appreciated

Did you read the manual on how to remove a qmgr from the cluster before recreating it?
If you just deleted it and created a new one, the cluster objects from the old qmgr will still be in the cluster repos. This can be fixed by using the RESET CLUSTER command - see the Clusters manual. |

Unfortunately that app server was lost and rebuild. Yes, I did read the manual. Did reset cluster with forceremove option and qmgr id vs. just the name. As far as I know though, Reset cluster does not get rid of hanging channels.
BTY I waited long, long time after reset to issue refresh |
