I got myself into a bit of a fix , and I'm hoping there's a solution to this short of uninstalling and then re-installing MQ.

In order to try and trigger an error condition in my MQ-enabled application, I changed the "Max open handles" on my queue manager to "1". The error I was hoping for didn't happen, but when I then tried to get back into it with MQ Explorer, MQ Explorer won't connect! It says there's not enough system resources! I tried to use the "Properties" box to re-set the number of open handles allowed, but in its disconnected state, the "Properties" box is totally different, and that's not one of the options!

Obviously, I must have been responsible for this...is there any way I can re-increase the open handles so I can connect my queue manager again, without needing MQ Explorer?

Sorry, but when I was reading your post I had to grin a bit.

Try the following

open a runmqsc against your queue manager and execute the following line

Code:
alter qmgr maxhands(256)

I just tried your scenario on a dummy queue manager and it worked.

cheers

Sebastian
