Had a problem with message flows not showing in the Flow Debugger (which I hardly use) so did some research here in the forum and decided to upgrade the RAC and the Toolkit ...am at CSD4.
The Update Manager found eight hits so I downloaded and installed....all OK except for one APAR which had an FTP 'could not find' error (the number was something like IC45510 or similar from memory so decided I have to live without that one).
Rebooted, started up the Toolkit, started the Flow Debugger and now the Message Flows appeared. However, when I selected one, XML text appeared instead of the flow graphic. Worse...no sign of the Broker Development perspective! I found it somehow, but when I opened a message flow XML text appeared there as well. Opened a .bar, selected a Message Flow project and there were no message flows.
Was able to restore my configuration and now am back to where I was before I started the exercise, but have not retried the Flow Debugger. However this experience has seriously affected my level of comfort re applying such changes to the Toolkit. Currently working to some tight deadlines I did not relish the idea of re-installing WBI.
Has anyone else has similar experience? Unfortunately this whole area seems to be pretty much undocumented. Are there any safeguards one can follow (apart from saving configurations before running the Update Manager)? Are these updates also supplied in the distributed CSDs? If so I think that in future I will stick to CSDs only. |

TonyD,
what operating system r u running?
One of my colleagues had a weird problem similar to this. His perspectives and all icons were missing. it was fixed by changing compatibility mode on toolkit shortcut to windows 2000.
righclick on shortcut > properties> compatibility mode>windows 2000. |

Well, thanks for that! Checked as suggested and found that Compatibility Mode was set to......'Windows95'!!!
Will restore the updated configuration and see if this fixes my problems...many thanks. |

TonyD,
If waugh's suggestion wont work, I would suggest you to download CSD05 and if you dont want to do that then try downlaoding agent contoller associated with CSD04. I guess if you are at Agent Controller 5.0.2 then things should be fine. Lets know what comes out, it will be interesting experience to know.
Cheers,
