All,
We receive messages from AS/400 system into our MQ Series Queue on Windows System.
I am looking forward to create a program that will send an e-mail whenever receipt of
messages is delayed beyond three hours. For example, my application should get triggered
whenever we do not receive messages from AS/400 system for more than 3 hours.
This will indicate to the on-call person that there is a problem with the application on AS/400
that is sending messages to our system.
Since I am new to MQ Series development, I appreciate if anybody could give me different options I could look into.
Thank you! _________________ voyager |

I think you are gunning for the wrong approach.
If the XMITQ fills up without dequeue rate than the channel is probably in retry status....
This is what you should be checking in my opinion...
Enjoy |

It's really not worth spending your own time building a monitoring solution.
contact admin, MQSoftware, CA, Candle/IBM, and a whole bunch of other people all make MQ monitoring software that can also monitor a bunch of other things - which usually allows you to build a set of monitors that tells you how the whole *business* is doing, not just whether mq is "running". _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
