What are the major differences between the products?
When is MQJD good enogh?
Are there monitoring tools which support MQJD?

In case the searching isn't clear enough, I'm not sure that the MQJD is ever good enough. Either go with JMS/embedded WMQ or full WMQ.

Also, there is a whitepaper - WebSphere Application Server to MQ - Selecting the most appropriate JMS provider for your application

And with WAS6, the embedded MQ can talk to real MQ through Enterprise Service Bus.

I would have phrased this as: With WAS6, the embedded JMS can talk to the real MQ using the MQ Link of WAS6. WAS6 isn't really embedded MQ. It is quite a bit different and the data is actually stored in a relational database (eg, Cloudscape).

It also is a WAS clusterable resource.
