Tried to create a listener in AIX enviroment , i did the following steps
1) Added the entry in inetd.conf "MQSeries stream tcp nowait mqm /usr/mqm/bin/amqcrsta amqcrsta "
2) Added an entry in services "MQSeries 1414/tcp #MQ Listener"
3) refresh -s inetd
4) runmqlsr -t tcp -p 1414 -m FMCWS1

My Qmanager is a default Qmanager ,
getting the following error
AMQ9218: The TCP/IP listener program could not bind to port number 1414.

You are cummulating.
You should use either method: inetd or runmqlsr, not both.
Use the search button to find why you should give runmqlsr preference over inetd.

Edit the entry out of inetd.conf refresh inetd, make sure there is no more listener running and start the listener using runmqlsr. You might want to put the listener process into the background (& at the end of the command line in Unix, start at the beginning of the command line in windows environment However if you are in Windows I'd advise you to use the MQ Services mmc)

Enjoy

If vinoth were on windows, vinoth wouldn't have inetd... or /usr/mqm/...

I guess fjp_saper was mentioning that on Windows, instead of starting the listener using runmqlsr, he was suggesting to use mmc.

Anyway, moving to General Support.

Edit:
I cannot move from this forum.
