Hi All,
we have a legacy system, where about 49 different systems send in their data in their specific file formats to varoius folders. right now we have a bunch of shell scripts, cron jobs and utilities that read these files and update a central database store.
This process,as you can see has a lot of cutomisation and I would like to know if we could say, implement InterChange server to handle this transformation, say by creating mappings between the the various file formats and the Informix database tables. Also, does implementing ICS implicitly mean I have to have MQ (as in the case of WBI MB).
If there is any other product capable of handling this kind of work well also, please let me know ASAP.
Thanks,
Sailesh |

You can use ICS as the broker and JText adapter to handle files and JDBC adapter to handle DB calls on either side of ICS.
For this kind of solutions ICS is a very good fit. |

just one thing though. The file feeds that we receive in the respective folders will have a specific index/maser file that will have information about the rest of the files, from which data will have to be uploaded to the DB's. Would this kind of thing be possible with ICS.
Also, if you know of any online case studies redbooks etc...that i can use that would be great.
Thanks |
