Hi folks,
I have a problem with CCSIDs. I am sending a file on Solaris which is being picked up by an application called Taviz and dropped on a remote queue to a WMQI flow also on solaris. After the flow processes it is sent to a QM on a windows NT box in Tokyo. I have no control over the put options from Taviz but can see that the hex of the message arriving on the tokyo queue is the same as the original file. Am I right to assume no conversion has been done at this point? In the flow i set the CCSID to 932 (as the file is in Japanese). The Tokyo queue triggers a windows app which uses the AMI to get the message(s). In the AMI I am using a policy with CONVERT ticked in the receive tab. I was hoping that MQ would convert this message to CCSID 932(943 - have tweaked the CCSID.tbl as recommended) before wrting to a file. This does not appear to be the case as the guys at the other end have unreadable characters. Anyone spot anything that I'm doing wrong? I have scoured the manuals and can't seem to get a clear answer as to when conversions are done with gets/puts and which CCSID they convert to on the get ie: that of the QM or the one specified in the MQMD. Any help would be appreciated.
