I have a similar case in my application ie, receiving messages to the MQSeries from the internet and after processing the message send them (the reply) back to the internet(browser) from MQSeries.
But I dont want to use MQseries Internet Pass thru..
Assuming you want to talk MQServer to MQServer over the Internet, the MQ pass-thru simply uses HTTP(S) to link MQServers. That way you can connect MQSeries servers without modifying firewalls etc.
Alternatives would be to open a port (eg 1414) in your firewall - at least for traffic from the other site in question and use MQ directly (warning - this is unencrypted data).
Another way is to establish a Virtual Private Network between the firewalls and use MQSeries as normal over it.
