Position: Senior, Pre-sales Systems Engineer
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Reports to: Director of Sales
MQSoftware is seeking a Senior Pre-Sales System Engineer to support sales efforts for it’s set of middleware monitoring and integration products.
Required Experience
-Direct Experience as an SE selling complex software products to the Fortune 500, as part of an integrated sales team.
-Strong technical background in middleware management including IBM WebSphere MQ and related IBM WebSphere technologies.
-Strong communication skills, both written and oral
-Expertise in two or preferable more of the following environments: Windows NT/2000, UNIX (Sun Solaris, IBM AIX , HP-UX), OS/390, OS/400
-Knowledge of DB2 and Oracle
-5+ years experience in high technology with 3 or more years in consulting or pre-sales role
-Bachelor’s degree or related experience
Description
The Pre-sales Systems Engineer is responsible for technical support of the sale of the company’s products, including:
-Qualifying, validating and ensuring the appropriate technical sales strategy
-Working on a sales team with Field Sales professionals
-Presenting the technical features, competitive advantages and business benefits of products.
-Delivering successful product demonstrations as they apply to the customer’s needs
-Installing and configuring company’s products for evaluation purposes
-Knowledge transfer/training as needed
-Leading technical RFIs/RFPs responses
-Assisting prospects in the resolution of technical problems, and addressing concerns
The Pre-sales Systems Engineer must have strong technical knowledge, presentation skills, understand the market place, and maintain a positive attitude in front of the prospect. 50-70% Travel required.
