Has anyone had success with creating a highly available QM on a Linux cluster?
This article:
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-halinux2/
seems to offer good detail on the procedure, and we are planning to give it a try, with the objective of creating an HA fault tolerant QM that can be used to harden an existing MQ cluster.
If anyone has experience doing this, and knows of any pitfalls, recommendations, etc. I'd be interested to hear about them.
Thanks. _________________ Andrew Watson

Andrew -
I have not looked into this document in great detail but I think it suggests or only offers hearbeat connection via ethernet. I would be careful with that option unless two servers are connected directly to each other via a local switch. If your switch goes down or some other network glitch, standby system might decide to go into a take over mode. _________________ Mikhail Malamud
