I'm using MQSI 2.1 with both Control Center, ConfigMgr & Broker installed in the same Windows XP machine under local userid "wbiuser".

But now i want to access the Control Center & ConfigMgr from another domain userid 'DOMAIN1/user1' in the same machine. I have added this user 'DOMAIN1/user1' in all the 5 MQSI groups, mqm and Administrator groups.

But when logging in as user 'DOMAIN1/user1' and while accessing the Control Center i'm not able to view the Broker in the Assignment & Toplogy views. I'm able to view the MessageSets & Flows but not the Broker. I'm getting the error, invalid user permissions etc.

In simple, I want to know how to provide permission to a new domain userid to access a ConfigMgr configured & installed using another local userid.

I dont know if the issue is previously addressed in the forum. I did a search but didnt find any.

You need to use the -d and/or the -l parameter on the mqsichangeconfigmgr or mqsicreateconfigmgr command.

I forget if you can change these or not - you might not be able to use mqsichangeconfigmgr.

It's been several years, but if I remember this scenario, where you want to authenticate domain users against a local set of groups, what I did was set the domain awareness to 0 and the domain name to the name of the domain (DOMAIN1 in your example).

Here I want one doubt to be clarified.

I have created the ConfigMgr usnig my local userid 'wbiuser' now i want to give access to another global domain userid 'GLOBAL/user1' where GLOBAL is the global domain.

I still want my local userid 'wbiuser' to access the ConfigMgr in addition to the global domain userid 'GLOBAL/user1'.

If i change the ConfigMgr using the command,

mqsichangeconfigmgr -i user1 -a password -d GLOBAL

I hope my domain userid 'GLOBAL/user1' will be able to access now.

But doesnt this command now prevent my local userid 'wbiuser' from accessing?.
Or after this command both my local userid's & GLOBAL domain userid's will be able to access the ConfigMgr? provided both are part of all the required groups.

As per the sugestion in this forum

I issued the following commands

mqsistop configmgr
mqsichangeconfigmgr -l 2
mqsistart configmgr

Also i started my Control Center using the following

mqsilccdom.bat 2

Now i'm able to see the Broker in Assignments & Toplogy & i'm able to deploy.

Hope this is one of the valid solutions to this problem apart from doing a mqsichangeconfigmgr -d
