Does a clustering setup work with the Pub/Sub support pack, i.e. it is possible to have pub/sub utilise the benefits that can be gained by setting up a clustering solution, either for high-availableity, redundancy and/or fail-over?
Stream queues cannot be cluster queues. See this extract from the MA0C
(PubSub support pack) manual:
.
Stream queues are used to process publications for all topics within a
stream. Applications send publications (and requests to delete
publications) to a stream queue. The stream queue must be a local queue
at the broker, not an alias or remote queue.
.
A broker network can consist only of qmgrs connected with normal
distributed queuing techniques, i.e. channels and xmitqs must exist in
both directions between parent and child brokers. The broker network
was not designed to be used with clustering techniques.
