I met a strange problem about MQ V5.3 + FP 7 on Win2000. I failed to start the eleventh QM after I created it. the error code is 2059. I tried to start listener for this QM, also failed. what's wrong with MQ? any limitation for the number of QM on one sigle machine? I remember there's a limitation for conections of QM and need edit it in registry, am I right? who can tell me which item in registry i should change?

thanks a lot!

Resource restriction on Windows boxes. Apparently only 10 qmgrs can run concurrently on the same box...

Enjoy

Hi,

at the System Administration Guide, search for "Creating a queue manager". There you'll find the following.

Quote:
Limit the number of queue managers
You can create as many queue managers as resources allow. However, because each queue manager requires its own resources, it is generally better to have one queue manager with 100 queues on a node than to have ten queue managers with ten queues each.
In production systems, many nodes are run with a single queue manager, but larger server machines might run with multiple queue managers.

Hope that helps.

cheers

Sebastian
