Hi Friends,
I am working on Message Broker 5.0.2 ,Windows 2000 Professional
I have created the flows, server,BAR files, domain, broker(From command prompt)
Now, in Administractive Perspective >> Domain window , i am getting "restricted" access for Topology and Topics......... because of that I can not create New Broker.......It gives the error message that the topology should not have restricted access...
Any idea what must be going wrong.....
I have double checked that the user ID that i am logged in is member of all the groups it needs to be .
thanks in advance... |

Hi, Is the Configuration Manager and toolkit on the same machine?
If not then the userid that you are using to connect with must exist on the same machine as the Configuration Manager and must also be a member of the relevant groups.
Are you using Windows domains? |

Try this. the problem may be that the config manager does not recognise you if you are signing using a domain account.
The ConfigMgr in 5.0 is by default domain aware (-l 2), you can switch this off by issuing the following command.
mqsistopconfigmgr
mqsichangeconfigmgr -l 0
mqsistartconfigmgr |

Hi _dave_,
Yes, I do have the configuration Manager and the Tool kit on the same machine.
I am even using Windows Domain for the logging in (I have created a local user having same name as the domain user and installed the Software)
What the differnce does it makes if I am working in the domain??
By the way,my problem was solved when I added my domain user in all the relevent groups .....
Waiting for reply |

This is the difference:

You can't expect that if you are logging in as a domain user that a user with the same name will be the same user.
In fact, Windows guarantees that this won't work - each user has a unique identifier. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
