At a very high level, we have SAP and would like to use MQ as it's delivery mechanism. We also have Business Connector available to us. Can we use SAP's Business Connector to connect to MQ or do we use something like R/3 Link instead? I've seen MQ and R/3 together many times but don't know anything about R/3.
Thanks,

I'm afraid I don't know much about R3Link either, but we're using SAP Business Connector here. It's a bit of a black box to me I'm afraid but AFAIK it's a toolkit that can be used to write code to connect SAP and MQ together. Again, AFAIK, it is is definitely NOT an off-the-shelf product that can just be bolted in.
Of course, I could be shot down in flames on this one. |

We are connecting by 2 different ways
a) MQ-Link for R3
b) JCO
a) straight forward -- read the documentation
b) requires you to program an ALE server in Java.
Has the advantage to allow us to output messages to MQ in XML format.
Both cases (even business connector) use the SAP ALE methodology
Enjoy |

We are currently using Suppportpac IA0P (Dublin Adaptor) with V5 (CSD04). It uses the SAP r/3 link to talk between SAP and z/OS |

Hi there,
You can use r3links and mysap.com adapter as well to connect to MQ from SAP .....Please let me know if you need more detailed info on r3links ...its pretty straight configuration ....
