If it is not possible to deselect cleanup can someone tell me how could it be possible that the cleanup server is deleting the process instances of one of the templates and deleting that template too.
I have another template in the client...this template is not touched neither are its process instances deleted.....
Can someone explain....????
I have not made any settings in the NETWORK, and on checking it anyway, found that everything is in inherited state.....
Plz help...this is a serious issue for me during production |

Hi,
you desparately need to read the manuals, if you want to run MQWF in a production environment! Believe me: if you design and implement your applications without knowledge of the workflow concepts you will run into problems that cannot be resolved via this forum, sooner or later! MQWF is a heavy-weighted product and needs careful installation, configuration and maintenance planning.
The function of the cleanup server is to physically delete finished process instances and related workitems. You specify the cleanup server settings in the buildtime. If you do not change the settings the inherited default values are used. The Administration Guide contains some recommendations how set the cleanup server settings in the buildtime to
improve performance. |

Cleanup server will not automatically delete the workflow objects. Like Hos mentioned in the above post, it will do physical deletes. |

Hi thanks for the posts...believe me i have no say in my working in MQWF....its either this way or the highway.....I knew MQ and MQSI and was the only guy free at the time
Anyway, could u tell me why possibly would the cleanup server remove the process template from the client.
And ur telling me that only the finished process instances and its workItems are removed....i am myself deleting the process instances from the workflow once they are over....so the ones still on the client are not completed...hence they cannot be possibly removed.....
Is it possible that if some workItems are in disabled state, their process instances will be removed ???? |

I do not understand the question, why would you want to remove the template?

Unless you have selected the option immediate cleanup, then when you "delete" you are logically deleting. Physical deletes are done by the Cleanup server.

Not sure I understand the question... If the Process instance is complete then it can be deleted, if not, it will remain
You really do need to do some reading.
Who will post an answer quickest Vennela or jmac _________________ John McDonald
