We are trying to implement a solution that requires having MQ messages that contain XML data along with MIME attachments. Is there any special handling required for this? Please let me know your experiences with similar situations.

Yes.

There is special handling invovled.

You have to know your MQ Infrastructure, to know what it does to messages as they move across it.

You also have to make sure your applications can handle the data.
