Very good link on what is happening under the covers.
I sent the following response in at the bottom of that page:

The user community needs a way of easily and fully stopping a flow. Currently the behaviour you get when you "stop" a flow is more of a Pause. When a user manually wants to stop processing on a flow, they want to the flow to stop picking messages off of the queue. When it comes time to restart the flow, *no one* will complain that it will take a couple of milliseconds longer to reopen the queue after a manual stop (not pause). We don't want the flows to be closing the queues after each message, but we do want the flow to stop processing AND let go of the queues (both on the input and output side) if we explicitly ask the flow to stop.

How i wish that IBM comes with a clean way to stop the EG.
And of course also on the wish list is a command line command to stop the msg flows.... |

Hari,
I think that we also have discussed what we would like to see in v6 of WBIMB.
If you are interested in what people want, here is the link:

Peter,
It has been a long expected feature in v6 that developers should be able to start and stop individual message flows or EGs and not the whole broker service from commandline.
Currently we can do it only via toolkit and not via command line.. _________________ Vivek
