Hi,
I need to apply a CSD for MQ 5.3 on 2 QM's that are held within an MSCS cluster.
The Sys Admin Guide doesn't explain how to do this.
Has anyone had the need to do this and if so, what is the best (easiest) way..? |

Good morning,
As the Software itself is installed localy, I would think you have to do it on both of them.
Edit: I think my wording is not really good. New try You have to install it on all nodes of a Hardware Cluster. This is also true for HACMP Clusters.
cheers

Bring the QM offline on the node you want to apply the CSD, apply it, reboot for Bill Gates sake, and bring the QM up.
In an Active/Passive node, you can apply the CSD on the passive node that has no QM running, reboot, fail the QM from the Active node (old CSD still) to the node that has already been upgraded, and then apply the CSD to the previously active, now inactive, node, reboot. Failback the QM to the primary node if you wish. _________________ Peter Potkay
