Hi all,

I am on Windows, MQ5.3 CSD4. I have to take backup of my MQ in order to go back to previous state in case of a disaster. what i did was

1. stopped channels.
2. took media image using rcdmqimg for all qmgrs
3. shutdown the qmgrs
4. stopped the listeners.
5. took backup of C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ
6. Restart Qmanagers
7. Restart Channels..

I created a new qmgr after taking backup. then, just for testing, what i did was removed the C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ and copied the backup folder that i have taken already. But, i am not getting the result that i expected.
1. Should I take backup of registry before taking backup? I'm scared to modify the registry...Please give me some pointers to this

2. Do I need to stop and restart MQ?.

Some one guide me pls....

So what result are you getting?

You also have to stop applications that could alter QM state between the times you take the image and the backup.
